It is a new season! It is a new day, a fresh anointing, flowing my way. Its a season of power & prosperity, it’s a new season, coming to me.
The song is true. It is a new season for some of us, and we have a lot of good things coming our way. Some of us more than others, but a new season for us, yes. Some of us will be getting vehicles, homes, land, money, your child may be coming home, you may be bringing home a child, you may be getting married. No matter the situation we know we have an adversary who is jealous of us. He is jealous of us because we can still repent and receive the forgiveness of God. Therefor he hates us and will do anything he can to wreck our lives. He comes to steal, Kill, and destroy, John 10:10. However, we must also remember our God is the great I Am! He did not leave us defenseless or powerless. He left us with keys to unlock. He left us with Power to loose, power to bind, power to unlock.
He left us with the help of the Holy Spirit, our comforter. His spirit resides in us. It leads us, guides us, comforts us, teaches us and chastise’s us. The Holy Spirit helps us to carry out the Father’s will in our lives. He leads us into battle and tells us to duck, or move to the left or right when it’s time to move.
God left us with armor so we may protect ourselves daily. in Ephesians 6 He told us to have our loins girt about with truth. Our loins are the part of the body on either side of the spinal column between the bottom of the rib cage and the hip bone. It is the region spanning the lower back and side of the abdomen, just above the pelvis and below the false ribs. This is around about where the Holy Spirit resides. The Holy Spirit is truth. He said have on the breastplate of righteousness, and our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace and above all taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. He told us to take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. This is our armor!
Even with armor we sometimes get hit by the evil one, however, with our armor on, we are less likely to get hit and we are able to withstand the fiery darts of the wicked. I try not to make things more than they really are. I do not want the enemy to have any extra credit. I was recently hurt by someone very close to me. I was devastated. I allowed myself to heal from the disappointment but God, how am I ever going to trust this person again? I had to stand on what I knew to be true. Ephesians 6:13 – 14 says Having done all to stand. 14) Stand therefore.
God is faithful, God is just, God is true. God loves me and will keep me. He will not forsake me, nor is he like man that he will lie.
I mean I was hurt bad. This thing bought me to my knees in tears, and I’m normally not one who will shed a tear, but this got me. I had to ask the Holy Spirit to lead me and guide me on how to forgive this person. This is no easy task, however, I had to stand on what I knew to be true so my flesh would not rise and say and do things that were outside of the will of God.
When we are told we are not good enough, when that self doubt gets loud, when depression tries to creep in because oppression is weighing us down, when life gets overwhelming, when kids are acting plumb fools and we’re looking at our spouse like, ugh, or when someone close to you disappoints you. I know you reading this don’t have these problems. I’m talking about myself.
When life throws you lemons, and you physically cannot make any more lemon aid, when you’re all out of answers and options, this is the time to armor up, pray and stand on what you know to be true, and when you have prayed all you can prayed and done all the things, therefor stand.
There is nothing you can do about your situations. Now you have to stand on what you know is true. You have to remember who God has been to you in the past. You still have to worship the Most High and give him praise and honor. Because, weather he brings you out or not, you know he can.
He has been Jehovah Jireh, your provider, he is El Roi: The God who sees you, Jehova Nissi: The Lord your Banner. He has been your savior, your protector, your peace, your strong tower, your deliverer, a way maker. Don’t shut down, because I am experiencing discomfort, lean, trust, and depend on God.
We have to come to a point where we remember that we are his creation, and he sees all that happens to us. We have to remember he told us in Ephesians 6 kjv to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. And, in Joshua 1:9 kjv he said; Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest and in Psalm 46:1 he said: God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
So today, stand strong with me and declare victory is ours. Let’s stand on what we know to be true, God is our creator, our savior, and our rock. He will show up and roar for us again.
